Meet The Team

LilY Waite

Lily founded Queer Brewing in 2019, and, until late 2020, led the project on her own. She deals with the running and growing of the company, production, and all sorts of other bits and bobs. When not working on Queer Brewing, she works as an award-winning beer writer, photographer, and ceramicist.

charlotte Marsden

Charlotte was the first addition to the team. Charlotte’s background in design, coupled with her interest in everything beer, means she was perfect for the role of helping grow Queer Brewing. You’ll find her handiwork on each can of beer, t-shirt, and tap handle. She enjoys everything arts and crafts, and walking her and Lily’s dogs, Teddy and Pickle.

BETH HILL

Beth is our account manager, and comes with half a decade of brewery sales under her belt and is also an active member of the LGBTQ+ community. She’s a proud northerner, who's lived in the capital for over a decade. When she isn't in a taproom, pub, or at a drag show, you can find her at home watching a nature documentary and eating ramen.

Boz Pagliaro

Boz is the newest recruit to team Queer Brewing, helping organise our warehouse, fulfil orders, and serving delicious pints at the taproom. They joined us in 2023 to help out over Christmas, and they've been with us ever since. If you've received a webshop or trade order this year, chances are Boz's fair hands picked and packed it!

Queer Brewing:

making queer beers and beer queer since 2019.

Queer Brewing is a queer- and trans-owned brewery whose aim is to increase visibility and representation for LGBTQ+ people through beer. We produce a range of beers, from our iconic witbier through to delicious pales and IPAs, and everything in between.

Founded in 2019 as a collaboration-only project, Queer Brewing began with the aim of increasing visibility and representation for LGBTQ+ people in and around beer, using beer as a vehicle for change. In the first two years founder Lily raised tens of thousands of pounds for LGBTQ+ charities in numerous countries by brewing collaborations all over the world with some incredible breweries. After recognising a lack of LGBTQ+ representation in the beer world (despite a strong and wonderful queer community), Lily set out to change that by taking up space in an industry dominated by cisgender, heterosexual, male voices. Since then, we’ve certainly had an impact.

For the past three years we’ve been brewing our own beers too, from our beloved core range through to a range of varied and delicious specials. We’ve been growing ever since our first brew, making queer beers and beer queer, one beer at a time.

We’ve changed the way we raise money for charities, too: we used to raise money via collaboration beers, but as the company got busier and we had less time to collab, that became less effective. Now we donate 10p from every pint and every can to a quarterly-rotating charity. We’re currently fundraising for Queer Britain, the UK’s first and only LGBTQ+ museum. Read more about their work here.

Charity Donations

10p from every can and every pint of beer we sell gets donated to our chosen LGBTQ+ charity; these change quarterly. Last quarter we chose Queer Britain, the UK's first and only dedicated LGBTQ+ museum.

Queer Britain is a home for our community, our stories, and our history, and it couldn't be more important or more brilliant. It was an honour to be able to donate to them as well as create a beer with them, To Be Seen, the name of a great campaign of theirs, where they asked people from the community to express how the museum made them feel.

Thank you to everyone who purchased beer from us, you helped us raise a whopping £5244.50 for an amazing pillar of our community.
